BY ISHVARA D'ANGELO

Angels are all around us. You will find them at every turn: cards and tee-shirts, Angel pins or earrings, candles, mirrors, dolls and every imaginable kind of merchandise. Clearly none of these things is really an Angel, but they reflect the growing interest in Angels at this time. In fact, there has not been so much focus on angels at any time since the Middle Ages. So, where have the Angels been all this time? Why this sudden resurgence? In fact, the Angels have never left us: it is our awareness of them that has been dormant for so long.
In 1990, Ishvara was flying home from the United States, where she had been attending teachings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, when she experienced a vision of a great golden Angel sending love to the Planet Earth. Now, as a Buddhist, Ishvara did not believe in Angels and had no wish to see one. But the experience was so powerful that she began to find out everything she could about these great Beings and this book is one of the results, another being the many paintings of Angels that she has made in the years since then.
